Isolation and identification of mammalian orthoreovirus type 3 from a Korean roe deer (Capreolus pygargus)

چکیده
Mammalian reovirus (MRV) causes respiratory and intestinal disease in mammals. Although MRV isolates have been reported to circulate several animals, there are no reports on Korean from wildlife. We investigated the biological molecular characteristics of based nucleotide sequence segment 1 gene. In total, 144 swabs wild animals were prepared for virus isolation. Based isolation with specific cytopathic effects, indirect fluorescence assays, electron microscopy, reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction, only one isolate was confirmed be a roe deer (Capreolus pygargus). The exhibited hemagglutination activity level 16 units pig erythrocytes had maximum viral titer 105.7 50% tissue culture infectious dose (TCID50)/mL Vero cells at 5 days after inoculation. amino-acid sequences partial S1 MReo2045 determined compared those other strains. similar MRV-3 most (96.1%) T3/Bat/Germany/342/08 strain, which isolated Germany 2008. will useful as an antigen sero-epidemiological studies developing diagnostic tools. Intraspecific variation of the interparietal suture closure in Siberian roe deer Capreolus pygargus from Jeju Island
The sequence of cranial suture closure among cervids is reported to be generally species-specific and highly conservative within species. On the other hand, it is known that intraspecific variation often exists to some extent in other mammalian taxa. Here we studied the cranial suture closures of Capreolus pygargus from Jeju Island and compared it with other cervid species. We found that the ti...
متن کاملUltrastructure of Sarcocystis sibirica (Matchulski, 1947) from the Siberian roe deer, Capreolus pygargus
ABSTRACT Sarcocystis tissue cysts from the Siberian roe deer (Capreolus pygargus) were studied by light and electron microscopy. Seven out of eight roe deer were infected (85 % ) . Cysts were macroscopically visible measuring 1-4 mm in length and 0.1-0.5 mm in width. They contained typical Sarcocystis merozoites 10.8 fim in length and 2.4 /xm in width. The taxonomic relation of Sarcocystis sibi...
متن کاملBacteria and Methanogens Differ along the Gastrointestinal Tract of Chinese Roe Deer (Capreolus pygargus)
The current study provides the insight into the bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract (GIT) and methanogens presented in the rumen and cecum of the Chinese roe deer (Capreolus pygargus). The ruminal, ileal, cecal, and colonic contents, as well as feces, were obtained from each of the three, free-range, roe deer ingesting natural pasture after euthanasia. For the bacterial community, a total of...
متن کاملIdentification of a novel Mannheimia granulomatis lineage from lesions in roe deer (Capreolus capreolus).
Eight atypical Mannheimia isolates were isolated from lesions in roe deer (Capreolus capreolus). Traditional classification based on morphologic and physiologic traits showed that they belong to a distinct biogroup (taxon) within genus Mannheimia. Extensive phenotypic characterization suggested that the isolates should be classified as M. granulomatis, although the presence of distinct traits j...
متن کاملWeak Population Structure in European Roe Deer (Capreolus capreolus) and Evidence of Introgressive Hybridization with Siberian Roe Deer (C. pygargus) in Northeastern Poland
We investigated contemporary and historical influences on the pattern of genetic diversity of European roe deer (Capreolus capreolus). The study was conducted in northeastern Poland, a zone where vast areas of primeval forests are conserved and where the European roe deer was never driven to extinction. A total of 319 unique samples collected in three sampling areas were genotyped at 16 microsa...
